ENDOWMENT FUND 

The growth of an endowment fund is a key step in creating a legacy of
providing access to an excellent Christ-centered education.

We believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has planted PMHS. We know because of the many times we have experienced God's provisions when the uphill challenge seemed too great. We know because of the way God brings the right people at the right time with the right gifts. We thank God for the growth and establishment of the school in the last 12 years. But because 47% of our student's families are at or below the federal poverty line, we are highly dependent on contributions from individuals, churches and businesses. Approximately two thirds of our operating budget is dependent on these contributions.

A diverse group of board members, donors, faculty, staff, church leaders and parents of student met in May of 2006 to seek God's leading for the future of this school. Through their discernment it was agreed upon that a key goal should be to build a $5 million endowment fund. 

A lasting legacy is needed to continue the blessing of a Christ-centered education. This is an important and necessary step to ensure that PMHS will continue to have the resources to transform the lives of urban students, their families, and all others who connect with the school. The establishment of an endowment fund was set as the top priority for resources necessary in providing Christ-centered spiritual formation for urban young people. 

In this endowment fund, principal would be preserved and interest would be used to provide dependable annual income for perpetuity.This would provide a necessary financial foundation, resulting in greater stability, and ensuring PMHS will accomplish their mission for generations to come.Our demonstrated fiscal discipline and access to board members with extensive finance experience gives assurance that we have the organizational capacity to manage a multi-million dollar endowment fund responsibly. Partnership with Mennonite Foundation brings additional financial management expertise.
